Moving Tips

Make a list

Once you have confirmation of your moving date, it is important to start planning, and the best way to start is by writing down a list of things to do. There are a hundred and one things to remember when moving house and being organised and having a checklist of useful things to do and remember is imperative.

Have plenty of supplies

Moving is a strenuous job, so ensure that you use quality materials to ensure that your possessions reach your new home in one piece.

Most removal companies can supply you with a range of different sized boxes including wardrobe boxes.

You will also need packing tape, labels, marker pens and bubble wrap for fragile items.

Pack one room at a time

This is one of the most handy tips, and often gets ignored but doing this will help you stay organised

and will later help you or anyone unloading which box goes where. If possible having a floor plan of the new property will also help co-ordinate the move better.

Colour coordinate.

It is very important to label the boxes so you know what is inside of them, and what room they belong in.

If you don't want to write on the boxes you could consider using coloured stickers/labels to help categorise rooms. Write on the sides of the boxes and not the top, as this will make it easier to recognise them if they are stacked.

Get the professionals in

Moving is one of the most stressful things you can do, and while you may think that you can tackle the huge task at hand, our advice would be to get the experts in to help reduce the stress. You would be surprised what professional movers can do for you. So give Rabbett Removals a call and let us help.
